An Overview of Hard Ferrites: Types and Structures

In 1950s, after the discovery of hexagonal ferrites called as hexaferrites, there has been an increasing level curiosity in hexaferrites and still, it is exponentially. Commercially technologically, belong to a category important magnetic materials due their utilization various applications such permanent magnets, recording media, storage devices, rod antennas, high frequency microwave devices etc. There are six types M-type, Z-type, Y-type, X-type, U-type W-type respectively, out which, most worldwide manufactured ferrite Barium M-type named BaM [1]. All categories shows ferrimagnetic behaviour nature inherently related crystal structure. The current chapter focuses on classification structure ferrites. this book chapter, firstly, we report M, Y, W, X, Z, W then, provide detailed comprehensive review two approaches spinel S/R/T based model for reporting respectively.
